[POSITION CLOSED] BI Reporting Analyst (for Telco industry)

About Our Client:

A large Australian Telecommunications company, which is based in Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.    Design & & Programming

       ·       Develop new or modify existing codes to produce product or system functionality as required, whilst monitor and evaluate effectiveness of code changes.

       ·       Apply design and programming strategies and practices that facilitate the on-going maintainability of exiting systems and products.

       ·       Collaborate with source system experts and business users to design system or product functionality as required.

 

  2.    Quality Assurance & Testing

          ·       Implement unit testing of new codes or any code changes. 

      ·       Respond to reported problems by logging bug or fault requests, and notifying management where appropriate.

          ·       Conduct cross checks to ensure all live changes are accurate.

          ·       Evaluate proposed changes to systems and products, and work with colleagues to ensure appropriate testing is carried out.

 

      3.    Continuous Improvements

          ·       Identify and propose improvements to existing products and systems.

      ·       Seek to educate team members and stakeholders about best practices where appropriate.

 

      4.    Work Planning & Management

          ·       Manage daily tasks and projects to ensure work is completed consistent with assigned priorities and deadlines.

      ·       Participate in planning meetings.

          ·       Initiate and attend meetings with team and stakeholders to give timely updates on work progress and resolution of issues.

      ·       Report progress to team and Business Intelligence Manager as appropriate.

 

      5.    Operational Support

          ·       Proactively monitor and maintain production systems.

      ·       Understand critical reporting streams and ensure information availability according to agreed standards.

          ·       Liaise with developers to ensure change management processes are adhered to.



       Required Experiences:

·       Degree in Computer Science or related degree field of study, with about 5 years of experiences in similar role.

·       Experienced in data warehouse development, and also MS SQL Server development skills (T-SQL, SSIS).

·       MS SSRS reporting is preferred, with MS Power BI.

·       Technical background in XML, JSON, Windows Server, networking, batch scripting, troubleshooting.
