[POSITION CLOSED] IT Operations Technical Manager (Telco)

About Our Client:

A large Australian Telecommunications company, which is based in Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur.

 

 

Position Summary:

This role is based in Kuala Lumpur, in an exciting fast-paced environment, as the Start-Up IT department of a Telco in Singapore. The position reports to the Head of IT Development and Operations and will lead a team to provide operational support for the company’s IT systems. This is a hands-on role, so technical background is a must.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

·      Ensuring that the BSS and OSS systems are operating correctly

·      Manage the daily operations of the BSS systems and environments.

·      Work closely with the Development Team to deploy their regular software releases and support the environments.

·      Acts as escalation point for the NOC and Development Teams, including on-call support.

·      Perform problem management to resolve long-standing issues and to provide pro-active monitoring of the health and capacity of systems.

·      Manage the regular deployment of patches and updates to keep the systems running at optimal levels.

 

 

Required Experiences:

·      Degree in Computer Science or recognized equivalent; with good experience in Telecommunication, with 5-10 years of similar experiences.

·      Strong experiences with IT operations, including problem management, with ITIL or a similar framework.

·      An excellent communicator; flexible and adaptable enough to respond to rapidly changing requirements in a Lean environment and have the tenacity to work through high-pressure situations.

·      Strong technical background, and possess excellent problem-solving skills

·      Experience leading an IT operations team is preferred. 

·      Strong skills in UNIX and Application support.

·      Experience with Agile software deployment.
